Music Monday

I have been meaning to jump on the Music Monday bandwagon as I LOVE to find new bands and artists.
To kick off what will hopefully be a long standing tradition of awesomeness, here is one of my most favorite bands that I actually was able to go see for the 4th time on Saturday.
Rooney!

This was the best I have ever seen them! They go out there and have a great time! Here are some concert pictures! I really like exclamation points!

From top to bottom, left to right:
set list (which I got!); ned brower, he is a daddy.
robert; more robert because you can't ever get enough
the stage set up and louie
mom and robert (her rockstar crush); me and erin with the band, minus louie :(

I don't really have any good pictures of the guitarist taylor because these stupid girls shoved...I don't want to talk about it.

Well, I wanted to show you some videos but blogspot won't let me add them. I shall investigate. In the meantime, go watch the "I Can't Get Enough" music video and "When Did Your Heart Go Missing @ Ram's Head Live!"

cool beans.

I just watched this movie for the first time the other day. I always thought something was missing in my life and this is it. The hole in my heart is now filled.

You have learned well young grasshopper.

This is my brother. On the left is what he usually wears. The shorts are no doubt filthy and probably haven't been washed in a couple weeks. He thought that teeshirt was the funniest thing ever. And those slippers....I don't know what else I can say. On the right, is what he wore to the 8th grade dance! It was all his idea too! (Except the hat. You can't expect him to get it all right on his own at his age can you?) He reported that all the girls kept saying he was "sooooo adorable" (imagine a girl with WAY to much eyeliner and a super short skirt saying that.) He also came home with several bobby pins clipped to his vest and tie. Bobby pins are the new love note? *clips bobby pin on cute boy and runs away giigling*

Either way, I'm proud. Now where are those shorts and the five million like them? I want to try out my new matches...

ps. please excuse the goofy expression on the right. he is just way too cool for pictures.

I broke my promise...

BUT! It's summer time so I will have way more time! Not that I didn't have a lot of time during the school year...I mean come on, it was Senior year...I could have squeezed it in between 2 AP classes, my college level math class, college apps, scholarship apps, knowledge bowl, the spring musical, parties, homework, hangouts and graduation. Oh who am I kidding. Whoever said senior year is the easiest and most fun year had a sick sense of fun! Ok, I still had a great time but I can do without all the crazy stress thank you very much. Oh wait, 2 and a half months and it starts all over again but at a collegiate level. Sweet. Well, here are some pics. A couple outfit pics, a couple graduation, a whole lotta fun! Like how I did that?

I wore this on our one day of sunshine since school got out.

Top: Graduation from {seminary}; Baccalaurete
Middle: I helped smuggled lightsabers in for an epic battle; right after getting my diploma
Bottom: 600+ graduates

Alright, that's all for now.

I've been a bad blogger

It's very true. I sat here trying to come up with some awesome excuse.....but I couldn't come up with one. (And I am fantastic at making excuses. Fantastic.) So this is me, not being a bad blogger. A while ago, my friend's sister in law took my senior pictures (woah. Senior? I know, crazy). I had so much fun! I had never really done a "photo shoot" before, especially not one I put together! Here are my favorites from the day!

inspiration from the lovely elsie flannigan. I went back through her archives and couldn't find the picture but check out her other cuteness {here)

Izze's drank from paper straws are really the only way to go.

This awesome barn is right down the street from my house! I sorta live in the sticks but I love it!

I just like gnomes. That's all.

More examples of the farms by my house.

Check out my fantastic photog's other work {here}
ps. the pictures of the girl jumping around crazy? That's my cute friend Kelli.

So....are we good now? I solemly swear to post more. Promise.

a lot of fake leather.

my outfit today comprised of a lot of fake leather. didn't really think about it until i looked at the pictures. oh well! it's freaking cold here. ok, by seattle standards. i'm sure you all in michigan laugh when we say it's cold but holy moly, 27 degrees is not fun. i was having a hard time figuring out how to stay warm in dresses during the winter when the cute girl over at {delightfully tacky} posted how she keeps from getting frostbite in dresses up in the great white land of Alaska. ready for this?

multiple layers of tights!

holy moly why didn't i think of that? it's so simple! and let me tell you, it works brilliantly! two layers of tights and boots and its's just like you are wearing jeans. can you say "awesome!"? cause i can.

awesome!

jacket {nordstrom} dress {thrifted} belt {nordstrom} tights {fred meyer sock sale?} boots {love culture}

this dress is super awesome, warm and japanese. that's right. the tag is in japanese. sure it made it a little difficult to know how to wash it the first time but who cares! and the boots i surprisingly got at love culture. it's one of those stores that you have to dig through the sleaze to find the cute. i feel as though i was successful. this time.

an outfit of bargains.

i like cheap things. i just do. clothes (and everything!) are so much more fun when they are cheap. i didn't realize it until later in the day but everything i'm wearing has a good bargain story.

cardi{steve&barry's} striped shirt{oldnavy} skirt{pacsun} tights{nordstrom rack} boots{oldnavy} earrings{gift}

sweater: $2 at steve&barry's closing sale. i was just grabbing things if they seemed kinda cute and fell in love with a few sweaters i got. nothing over $5. hello!

shirt: $10 well, nothing super special. just oldnavy so it's cheap haha.

skirt: $5 at pacsun. on the clearance rack at the end of summer. it has a super sweet waistband too.

tights: $5 at nordstrom rack. i found these tights at anthro for $12, was going to buy them but didn't cause the line was too long and i had to get to my {bp fashion board meeting}. i was just going to go back after. got done with my meeting and the mother had found them at the rack. sweet!

boots: $3 at oldnavy. got these a few years ago before people were wearing slouchy boots. htey were cheap and cute so i bought them. wore them a few times, almost got rid of them and now i wear them all the time!

earrings: my friend maribel or m made these for me. just a button glued to an earring back!

outfit total: $25

nice.
